-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Greetings All,
I had to make a slight change to my online scanner. The reason
is because despite the fact that the 'STATUS-BIT' Mode on the
BC-245xlt is turned 'ON', it was not capturing all of the APB's
coming out from the various dispatch talkgroups. I first noticed
this the night I worked on District 9, and recorded myself that
night. I made 3 system-wide APBs, that my BC-245xlt ignored.
Of course, when Dispatchers on our system make APBs, the
ID+7 status bit is sent, however, I noticed that everytime I made
one on my console, 57520+7or 57527was not the talkgroup ID
being sent out over the data channel. Strange huh? I was never
able to varify what ID+7 status bit was going out the night I made
those 3 APBs over the system. I verified that my District 9
Motorola Centracom Gold Elite Radio Terminal was correctly
operating.
To compensate for this problem. I have changed the BC-245xlt
online Radio scanner of the South Patrol from 'SCAN' talkgroup
Mode, to 'SEARCH' talkgroup mode. I locked out all known
talkgroups, and have turned 'OFF' the 'STATUS-BIT' mode. The
'DELAY' function is turned 'OFF'.
This will hopefully prevent the lost reception of the 'APBs'. This
setting of the Radio will also allow reception of any talkgroup
Channel where an 'EMERGENCY' button has been pressed.
'EMGY' = ID+2 status-bit
Its also possible that the radio will now also pickup any new
talkgroups that I do not have locked-out. Everything on my
Trunk web page, except for 57360 and 57392 are locked out.
